Welcome to our website. I entered the lettings market in 1968 dealing with a mixed portfolio of flats and houses as a private landlord. This enabled me to learn some of the legal aspects of management at that time. Subsequently, I entered the lettings market professionally as a Property Manager and over a period of eight years built a substantial portfolio dealing with client's properties.
There has been major changes in legislation and on the 15TH January 1989 the 1988 Housing Act was placed on the statute books with changes happening still. Continuous CPD education has enabled me to improve my skills with membership of The National Association of Estate Agents and along with the practical operation in property management has kept me at the forefront of the business.
On the 13TH March 1995 Charles Lamb Residential Lettings was created and because of my commitment to clients a strong and sound business has evolved. On the 1ST February 1996 my wife Lois became an equal partner in the business and from that date we have continued to go from strength to strength..
Lois and the team are continuously in and out of the office, assisting in the vetting of tenants, inspecting properties, carrying out check-ins and check-outs and, ensuring that the properties are kept in a good serviceable and safe condition. Lois also ensures we are up to date with current legislation such as gas safety certificates epc's and electric safety. Lois carries out any refurbishments for clients making sure they are done on time to a budget.
Hannah Lamb our daughter is now training to be a Property Manager and is studying for her CRLM (Certificate of Property Management) which l already hold. She has been with us over 6 years and has a wide knowledge already of the law etc.
Hannah and l continue to meet clients, initially to value properties and give them advice on the legal legislation and what to expect in the real world.
