About this deal

In your first picture there is a big white bit and a big blue bit, you need to replace the big white bit, there is a seal at the bottom which has perished. so I can't get under the cistern to replace any of the "uprights" without breaking away all the tiles Would I have to turn off the water before I turned the "lid" and removed the valve? the little leaver will probably be stuck in the down position, if so poke in to lift it back up, this will let the valve reset and the systen should fill up. For those who are wondering if this will replace the now out of production AFV40100 or AFV40200, the answer is YES it will!

I cleaned the guide rails with some tissue and smoothed them down so any limscale residue and gunk was gone. When you push the button to flush, it operates a little leaver inside the small plastic box on the end of the cable attached to the systen lid. Further, if this doesnt solve your problem, at the other end of the cable is the actual valve mechanism.Being a busy sort of chap I resolved to 'look at it later' as it wasn't a source of major inconvenience. PLEASE NOTE CERTAIN PARTS OF SCOTLAND, IRELAND and the ISLE of MAN will not be next day if chosen and will take an extra day. Ordinarily I wouldn't bother about it as it's not doing any harm (leaking inside or overflowing outside etc) but I wonder how much this constant stream is costing us given that we're on a metered system!

When I came to take off the Macdee AFV40100 flush valve (which I thought separated at the top not the bottom, took me a while to figure that out! Inside the bowl there is a hex-head stainless bolt on a stainless washer, which in turn is on top of a rubber washer. It's 2014 and the problem still occurs and WD 40 still works, but just make sure you have a good look at the layout of the little plastic box before you take it apart! It can be put back in several positions, which allows you to adjust how tight the cable is when the button is pushed.I will post an image of the top of the valve in case anyone knows if this is not a simple twist-off fitting. At this point all i did was squirt in plenty of WD40 and keep activating the little leaver with a pencil untill the cable is freed by the WD40. Toilet flush valves are replacement parts for the toilet flush system, inside a toilet cistern that controls tank filling and toilet flushing.
