About this deal

Summary: I think it is a well- written book but I don’t think I am the targeted reader, few of the points were irrelevant to me and few were too extreme for me such as the internet free phone! If you want to externally transform yourself, these are the thrilling trio I would recommend (I probably need this for future me too). Even if you remember the advice about just trying out one new tactic at a time, it might still feel like there’s so much you’re not covering.

Bet es ar to ļoti ātri aizrāvos, sāku pierakstīt principus un jau pirmajā nedēļā sāku dažus no tiem ieviest dzīvē. John’s writing has been published by The Wall Street Journal, TIME, Harvard Business Review, Wired, Fast Company, and many other publications.

Recharge your body and brain throughout the day, so you have enough energy to stay disciplined and focused. Each 15 minute hour slot will accommodate a maximum number of bookings available on a first-come, first-served basis.

We read Cal Newport's Deep Work recently for book club at work, and I thought I'd supplement it with this while I was engaged in a concerted effort to be more thoughtful about the way I apply my attention, to what, and why. You will need to provide a postcode when booking and bring proof of address when you attend the centre. Personal stories and frequent asides contribute to making this an easy audiobook to stay with and a pleasing reservoir of useful ideas for optimizing what you get out of life. This book made me realize how boring my life is because it tries to convince the reader to stay away from things that I don’t do, just like watching TV (I almost never watch TV and the authors explained that the average American spends 4 hours per day watching TV).We’ve tried to resist the siren song of these forces ourselves, and we know how impossible it can be.

However, instead of trying to cram more into each day, perhaps it’s time to fundamentally change the default way we work and live. Jake Knap and John Zeratsky, both ex-employees of Google, have used their experience to come up with a formula and number of tactics to improve our daily life. You’ll naturally get in the zone when you (i) are doing something meaningful that you care about, (ii) have enough energy to focus, and (iii) can keep distractions at bay.The lifestyle defaults of the 21st Century ignore our evolutionary history and rob us of energy, but with a few small changes, you can reset those defaults and power up.

As creators of Google Ventures' renowned "design sprint," Jake and John have helped hundreds of teams solve important problems by changing how they work. When I first finished the book, my gut was a 3-star review for 'good' but not really adding to the conversation from other treatise on productivity and focus - then, I started to experiment and implement some of the suggestions. Much of the advice regarding productivity is not new, but the authors do a good job with integrating all the general advice around a central theme. By focusing on the things that matter most to you, Make Time presents a four-step process for creating more time in your life.ensures that you spend time on what matters most to you and don’t lose the entire day reacting to other people’s priorities. Tā kā mana dzīve ir krietni atšķirīga no Googlistu, ne viss ir piemērojams manai mazajai mietpilsonīša ikdienai. At peak times, weekends and bank holidays, there can be a very high demand for appointments so please be patient and book early.
