About this deal

Never in a million years did I think I would be saying this about a book in this series but here goes nothing: “Wow, I’m glad this is over”

The Inadequate Heir is the third book of the Bridge Kingdom series but it debuts new protagonists and the events of this book occur on parallel to The Traitor Queen I do want to remake the world so that I can be with you. So that I can get down on my knees and ask you to be my wife. So that I can put a crown on your head and make you my queen. So I can build a shrine and worship you as my goddess. I want all of these things, yet I face a future with none of them, and I don’t know whether I want to fall on my own blade or burn everything to ash because I do not want to let you go.”The fact that for once the heroine is the brave, fighting one and the hero is the "nerdy" tactical one is such a breath of fresh air. Their encounters were so special, and the spice was just ✨on point✨, just a couple of scenes but very well done. I just regret that, although the narrators were really good most of the time, they were not suited for "sensual" talk in my opinion. Other than that I really have no complaints, except the fact that I'll have to wait who knows how long to know what's going to happen to my lovelies. Thank you Danielle, thank you Audible ❤️✨ However, I went into this book expecting the story from the previous books to continue. But The Inadequate Heir takes place in the same time as The Traitor Queen. And I could’ve been fine with that, if I got a new and fresh story, just set during the same time. But the main characters Keris and Zarrah spent the majority of the book in the same place as the previous main characters, Aren. Which made me feel like a read a book I had already read. I already experienced these events, but with characters I liked more. The book didn’t grip me and I didn’t feel excited, because I knew what was going to happen.

The first two books were amazing enough.. but I must admit this one was even better. The only thing I regret was reading the other too long ago because I didn't remember all of it and I would've like to piece the pieces of the puzzle better. The way Danielle created this amazing intricate world, and weaved this story into the last one is pure talent. The writing style impeccable for my taste, and both characters so full of colour and depth you could not help but fall in love with both of them. Oh and Keris? He's the archetype of character that I always love to see in a fantasy book. You know, the strategist, manipulative, easily underestimated and deceptively cruel if he wants to be. Because, at the end there, he kinda scared me because to sacrifice an island filled of innocent civilians for the safety of one woman is kinda... worrying.. I love this series so much! The Bridge Kingdom will always have a special place in my heart, but this book is excellent too. The Endless War between Maridrina and Valcotta has raged for generations, leaving thousands of Zarrah's people dead and countless more orphaned. So when she's given command of the contested city of Nerastis, Zarrah is prepared to do whatever it takes to destroy the Maridrinian forces who oppose her. And to kill the Veliant prince who leads them. Yet a chance encounter with an anonymous, and handsome, Maridrinian causes Zarrah to question whether the violence she’s perpetrated is justice or a crime. And as she continues to meet the nameless man each night, she finds common ground—and fiery passion–in his arms.En segundo y último lugar está que siento que la autora ha reciclado trama con respecto a sus dos primeras novelas y eso es algo que no quiero perdonar porque siento que ha sido un copia y pega, sobre todo en las partes decisivas de la historia. And then at the end of the book of course we learn that the REAL VILLAIN is the empress (even more so than Silas) because of course she is. Now that Silas is dead of course we need another monster for our heroes to fight. I suppose it might be good to mention that there are more foes other than evil rules…but okay… This whole book just kept dragggging and dragggginggg on and on. 56% was Zarrah’s captivity in Vencia and Kerris’s pathetic and unsuccessful attempts to get her out. Zarrah is such a badass character. She always thinks things through before acting, avoiding most of the second embarrassment we get from some characters.

I love you, Valcotta. I will have you or I will have no one, because where you go, my heart goes with you.” 🥺❤️‍🔥 Return to the world of The Bridge Kingdom in this sensuous fantasy full of romance and intrigue that is perfect for fans of From Blood and Ash and A Court of Silver Flames. A soldier raised as heir to an empire, Zarrah is motivated by two truths. The first is that the Veliant family murdered her mother. And the second is that her pursuit of vengeance will put every last one of them in their graves. The Endless War between Maridrina and Valcotta has raged for generations, leaving thousands of Zarrah’s people dead and countless more orphaned. But when identities are revealed, Zarrah must decide whether to embrace a chance at peace…or march to the drums of war. The Inadequate Heir (The Bridge Kingdom, #3) by Danielle L. Jensen – eBook Details I really couldn't wait for it to end. I struggled, but I didn't want to give up. The beginning was promising, but it soon became unbearable. In the end, I wanted to pull out my own hair ... But when identities are revealed, Zarrah must decide whether to embrace a chance at peace... or march to the drums of war. Though in truth, even if they’d stood side by side the entire voyage, the result would’ve been the same: the taciturn silence of two men well aware that each wished the other dead. Kerris (sp?) 😬 To be honest I had a love/hate relationship with him. He was honestly so annoying at times and so frustrating. It probably didn’t help that the male narrator’s voice was not great. I’m sure he will do some growing in the next installment, but geez he is not an easy guy to root for.

Keris and Zarrah were so hot, however the issue I have is that they fell in love way too easily and fast. They are literally from waring countries, and you mean to tell me that after like two or three meetings, they were willing to go on a date and then be intimate with each other while risking a lot, I call bullshit! They were still cute though. When she threw up after realizing it was Keris, I choked so hard.
