The area around the humidifier must be kept clean and dry. If dampness occurs, reduce the output or limit the frequency of its use. Do not allow soft furnishings to become damp. One of the things we love about the new ClevaPure Salt Lamp is that you can add a few drops of essential oils to the diffuser to fragrance the air in your little one’s room. But what oils are best to use? Here are a few suggestions, along with some ‘dos and don’ts’ of using essential oils. It’s perfect for children’s bedrooms as it’s silent and this is something I worried about. My two sleep really well and I didn’t want to add something to their room that could potentially wake them up. It also has a nightlight feature which has three different brightness settings but can also be turned off completely which I like. It is super easy to refill, just lift the top off and pour the water in. There is a very clear maximum level inside so remember not to over fill it. Make sure you clean it out every 3 days to keep it clean and avoid potential bacteria being dispersed into the air. It is super easy to clean, I just wiped around the inside with a piece of kitchen roll. Aromatherapy Diffuser

Orange: This is a bright, uplifting oil which can help to reduce stress and anxiety. It’s also said to enhance creativity and imagination. Other oils distilled from the orange tree, such as Neroli (from the orange blossom) and Petitgrain (from the leaves of the orange tree) have the same calming and uplifting properties. Tap and hold the on button to turn the unit on. It has three light settings, a nice dimmed light which can be turned a little brighter by pressing the light button again. I’ve used it mostly with the lamp on its highest setting. It gives a nice calming glow without being too bright and creates a lovely atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing light in a bedroom or nursery. There are gaps in the base to release the effect of the salt. Do choose essential oils from reputable suppliers to ensure purity. Cheap oils can be mixed with chemicals and artificial fragrances. Brands such as Tisserand and the Holland and Barrett range are reliable choices. Oils should never be used topically (on the skin) unless diluted with a carrier oil or cream and should NEVER be used on babies under 3 months because their skin is so permeable.Once all this is done you are ready to go. Just remember to place it out of the reach of children and on a stable surface. Features of the clevapure While essential oils are a wonderful tool for wellbeing, it’s important to use them properly. I set to looking at the instructions and found they were very simple and easy to follow, once I had opened the bag with the Himalayan Salt crystals I just had to arrange them in the base unit. Then pop the bulb cover on and sit the light panel and diffuser unit on top of the crystals. Due to the irregular shape of the crystals I found I had to move the crystals around a bit to make enough room for the bulb to sit in the middle of the top layer but it was very easy to do. I then plugged in the power cord once I had attached the correct plug and popped some filtered water in the diffuser. I chose lavender oil (not included) to use as the scent as I wanted my daughter to have the Clevapure in her room for bedtime and thought this would be very relaxing. I popped the lid on, and turned the power on at the wall. On the front there are two sensors, one for the light which has three brightness settings and one for the humidifier. The humidifier can be set to continuous operation, which gives you 6 hours from the 200ml tank, or, intermittent which allows for 12 hours of operation. By humidifying the air it is possible to ease congestion in stuffy noses and throats, and also reduce skin irritation, all whilst baby (or in my case child) sleeps. Although I used lavender to aid relaxation, you could use eucalyptus to aid decongestion, or, mint to cool the air on hot nights.

I put a few drops of my favourite oil in the water which created a beautiful mist to make my room smell divine.
