Otherwise a metal mask with numerous nails on the inside would close on his head and kill him. Unfortunately, Michael wasn't able to accomplish his task and died. Ní Fhlainn also commented that Jigsaw's unique character was not successfully compensated for by his apparent successor in Saw V, Mark Hoffman.
